Real money.

Contrast this with the top post.

dont run salad or any other tech that lets people run code in your network

GCP is underrated

Make stealing life threatening again.

Yes, trying to do this in some parts of the world is likely to result in death. That's an extremely strong deterrent.

Interesting that some anonymous downvoters on HN seem to side with criminals...

Those people never engage and try to argue their side, they just DV

It definitely would more likely be a meteorite than anything else.

What makes a meteorite more likely

Just that many more of them are present in the atmosphere than reentering space debris pieces.

> many more of them are present in the atmosphere

At 36,000 feet?

Why not? What comes down must come from somewhere up.

Exactly! If you think about it, every meteorite has passed through 36,000 feet at some point!

What makes a meteorite not "space debris" though?

The same which makes fallen leaves in the forest not "garbage". Space debris is man-made, meteorites aren't and hence are not space debris [1].

still a lot more birds than meteorites or spacecraft.

There are not many birds at cruising altitude. Some, but not many.

still more than spaceships and meteorites!

Estimates vary, but a ballpark figure is 25 million meteors hitting the Earth every day.

There is usually blood on the plane when it's birds.

We are nearly at the peak of the annual Orionid meteor shower. [0] There should be a higher probability of encountering meteor debris during this period than during periods where there are no meteor showers in progress. We are passing through the debris from Halley's Comet right now and for about another two weeks.

It is known that if you can't afford a house, fewer people have babies. The entire setup is real.

On the one hand Sam Altman stealing GPUs is funny... on the other what happens to a "nobody" involved in a lawsuit and mom brings a video of said nobody picking up and shaking her baby. At this point, I can see chain-of-custody algorithms will be needed to verify everything

There already is chain of custody and rules of evidence in court. Faking evidence is a problem as old as time.

the challenge we’re seeing is when none of this has a chance to make it to court, because that video gets plastered all over Fox News, Youtube, TikTok, Truth Social first, etc. and no one cares if it turns out it was fake later.

"Replit found its market"

HN: It sucks now

maybe HN isn't the market then :p

At the risk of stating the obvious, is it really that surprising people who frequent “hacker” forum don’t appreciate a product pivot pitched specifically to non-coders?

probably not for many founders sharing their product on HN

neither is reddit
