I haven't been able to get `offlineimap` working with gmail in at least the last six months. If anyone has been successful, please let me know. The blog posts I've found all have out of date information. If I'm locked into their cloud, I'd at least like to have a backup of my data-- and no, I don't want the takeout service, the Maildir format and features of offlineimap are what work great!

I use mbsync/isync instead of offlineimap, but I've had no issues using mailctl to handle the OAuth2 tokens and refresh.

Does the example on the ArchWiki[0] work for you?

App passwords worked for me like 3 or 4 months ago.
