Considering a sizeable part of Wayland's low-level stuff is written by Drew back in the day, vaxry won't touch anything written by Drew. This "protocol" effort is to further decouple Hyprland from Wayland infrastructure. Like everything, this effort is again driven by ego and spite.

Now that's the info I missed, I knew the hyperland devs have a bad reputation so I was wondering what was not being said , thank you good sir.
